Programme
Our learn to swim programme centres on the Amateur Swimming Association award scheme as set out below;
Our younger swimmers work through the Duckling Levels which are all about confidence and fun in the water. The final level (Duckling 5) requires the child to swim freely for 5 meters as well as performing other skills.
Swimmers then progress onto the Water Skills Programme. Each Level has 5 swimming requirements and 5 skill requirements which need to be mastered before moving to the next level. This means the child is learning a whole range of aquatic skills, all aimed at being efficient and confident when swimming.
Once at Water Skills 5 or 6, swimmers may be invited into our Academy to further improve and develop their abilities learning tumble turns, racing starts, water-polo, and much more.
Our lessons are currently held on;
- Saturday mornings,
- Sunday afternoons
- Mondays after school
- Tuesdays after school

“
Very clean, well looked after facility.
”
My two grandchildren have been swimming with F4S since they were three. They have progressed really well and we are pleased with the teaching they have received.
”
The lessons are always super. It's fantastic to see my children progress so much.
”
Flexible approach to lessons. We knew in advance the we could not make a lesson due to a dance exam, First 4 Sport let us switch lessons for that week.
”
The Garrison is a fabulous pool. The depth of the pool means that children can't cheat during lessons. I am confident that if my children accidentally fell in the deep water they could swim to safety.
”
The teaching is very personable and focused to the individual child.
”
Lots of attention, really builds confidence and the teachers really get to know the children and care about their development.
”
Spatious pool, light and airy. Great staff to child ratio. Happy children.
”
Great pool. Clean changing facilities. Small classes with plenty of staff in the water to help the little ones.
